IVS Bergamo 2026

Great discussion at IVS Bergamo during the EPC Projects: Focus on Africa roundtable 🌍
A sincere thank you to IVS-Industrial Valve Summit and Confindustria Assafrica & Mediterraneo, and in particular to Angela Giordano and Patrizia Mauro, for organizing such a high-quality and forward-looking panel.
A special mention as well to John Royall for his excellent moderation and insightful guidance throughout the discussion 👏
It was an excellent opportunity to exchange perspectives with industry leaders actively engaged across the African continent, confirming once again the strategic importance of Africa for Europe’s future.
⚡ From our perspective, the Mediterranean should not be seen as a barrier, but as a bridge connecting Africa and Europe — a bridge that can position Italy as a key energy hub for the continent.
During the discussion, we explored both:
🔹 the significant opportunities, particularly in the energy sector and industrial supply chain
🔹 and the critical challenges, including bureaucracy, access to finance, and local content requirements
On this last point, we strongly believe that when approached with the right mindset, local content can become a true accelerator, enabling sustainable growth and long-term partnerships — rather than being perceived as a constraint, as in more traditional “old-style” approaches.
At DG Impianti Industriali S.p.A., we have been working in Africa for years, and we see every day how proximity, collaboration and knowledge transfer 📈 are key to unlocking value for all stakeholders.
