The Vega oil field is located in the Mediterranean Sea, about 25 km far from the southern coast of Sicily from Pozzallo and Marina di Ragusa, in a water depth of 128 m. Vega A oil field is an offshore platform still in production since 1987; Vega B reservoir, placed north-west direction from Vega A, is not yet been developed. Purpose of FEED is the basic design of the offshore facilities including the oil process on topsides in order to get a crude suitable for transportation by the sub sea pipeline.

Jacket weight optimization is mandatory for the success of the project as Customer required to have both launched and lifted jacket solution. Jacket weight is around 3000 tons plus piles; topside weight is around 2700 tons.
Within DG IMPIANTI scope of works is also the preparation of tender documents for the issue of 3 different tenders for EPC of jacket and topsides and for the installation contract.
